Research Associate

Victoria graduated with honours in Applied Biological Sciences from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1995. Following eleven years working within retail management she returned to academia, completing her MA in the History of Medicine at Newcastle in 2007. Immediately after the completion of her MA she started a Wolfson Research Institute sponsored PhD at Durham University in the History of Medicine entitled “Public Health Issues and General Practice in the Area of Middlesbrough, 1880-1980”. Her subsequent work and interest on health in the North East led to her Research Associate post within the Wellcome funded project “Disability and Industrial Society: A Comparative Cultural History of British Coalfields, c.1780-1948.”
